Today, April 26, 2016, Canonical and MEIZU have announced that their most powerful Ubuntu Phone yet, the Meizu PRO 5 Ubuntu Edition, is now available to buy.

The Meizu PRO 5 Ubuntu Edition smartphone was officially announced more than two months ago, in mid-February 2016, and it has been available only for pre-order since then. But that ends today, as MEIZU, the well-known Chinese consumer electronics company, has announced that the device is available for anyone to buy.

It appears that the handset is not sold by Meizu directly, but through JD.com or Jingdong Mall (previously known as 360buy), a Chinese electronic commerce company, which ships it freely to numerous countries, including the US and Russia. If you want to purchase one, you'll need to pay the sum of $369.99 (€328).

"We’re excited to announce that the most powerful Ubuntu phone, Meizu PRO 5 Ubuntu edition, is available to order from en.jd.com, retailing at USD$369.99," said Amrisha Prashar, Marketing and Social Media Manager, Canonical. "For those of you who have pre-ordered the Meizu PRO 5 Ubuntu Edition, here’s your chance to buy!"
