The next high-end smartphone coming from the Chinese company

Meizu's next high-end Android smartphone is expected to be announced very soon. The device is internally known as NIUX, and some of its specs have already leaked online, but we only have one confirmation coming from the Chinese handset maker.

Apparently, Meizu's President Bai Yongxiang has confirmed that the company's upcoming high-end smartphone will sport a large 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that will support full HD (1080p) resolution.

Many Meizu fans will probably be disappointed that the Chinese OEM will not use a Quad HD display inside the NIUX, but we suspect the company is saving those for its flagship smartphones.

But that's not all the new information we’ve got about the Meizu NIUX. It looks like the folks over at Techgrapple have uncovered a live picture of the smartphone that leaked on Weibo, the Chinese alternative to Facebook.

Since we can't tell for sure whether or not the device in the picture is really the Meizu NIUX, we recommend our readers to take it with a pint of salt.

The rumored specs

Other than that, we're left with all the previous details that have leaked in the last couple of months and claim the NIUX will come with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM inside, as well as 32GB of internal memory.

As expected, Meizu NIUX will come preloaded with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, along with FlymeOS on top of it.

Also, the smartphone might be equipped with Samsung's Exynos 7420 processor inside since Meizu's president stated at some point that the NIUX would pack the best chipset available on the market.

Meizu NIUX will most likely hit shelves under a different name, which has yet to be unveiled (perhaps MX5 Pro?).

Speaking of which, rumor has it that the next high-end smartphone coming from the Chinese maker will be announced sometime in October.
