14 DAY TRIAL // Meizu MX5 is expected to be unveiled on June 30, which is just one day away. Details about the next flagship smartphone launched by the Chinese handset maker have been leaked in the last couple of months.
Although confusing at first, we now have a pretty good idea of what's to come, and with the latest press renders that leaked via MobiPicker, we also know everything there is to know about Meizu MX5's look.
On top of that, Chinese media claims the MX5 will be available for purchase in the Mainland for just 1,799 yuan, which is about $290 or €245. That's quite a deal considering the phone's specs, but we expect Meizu MX5 to be priced slightly higher if launched internationally.
Anyway, the MX5 is likely to feature a metal body and will sport a large 5.5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that should feature full HD (1080p) resolution.
Helio X10 CPU and 4K video recording
Instead of choosing Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chipset, Meizu has decided to go with MediaTek's 2.3GHz octa-core MT6795T Helio X10 SoC (system-on-chip) to avoid any overheating issues.
The smartphone is said to boast a 20.7-megapixel rear-facing camera, which should feature Sony sensor, LED flash, autofocus and 4K video recording. In the front, Meizu MX5 is likely to pack a 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
When it comes to memory, the MX5 will not disappoint, as the smartphone will come with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. There's no mention of microSD card slot for memory expansion for the moment, so we must assume it lacks one.
It's also worth mentioning Meizu MX5 will be packed a with a 3,150 mAh battery, which will feature fast charging technology. Thanks to this technology, the battery might go from 0% to 25% in just 10 minutes.
Last but not least, we're certain that Meizu MX5 will ship with Android 5.0.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, or a variation of Google's Lollipop.
