It looks like Chinese handset maker Meizu has decided to bring its MX5 high-end Android smartphone to Europe. Meizu MX5 was initially launched in China a few months ago, but aside from India, it wasn't rolled out in other countries yet.

The good news is that, beginning this week, Meizu MX5 is available for pre-order via Amazon UK, a new report confirms. Those who wish to purchase the handset will be able to do so for only £279 / €375 / $420 outright.

However, customers should keep in mind that the smartphone is only available in Grey and Silver variants, but shipping will only start on October 12.

In case you're wondering what you will get for the price you pay, then you will be pleased to know that Meizu MX5 is quite beefy when it comes to specs.

The smartphone is equipped with a powerful 64-bit 2.2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor, a PowerVR G6200 graphics processing unit, and 3GB of RAM.

A high-end device with more than decent specs

Also, the MX5 packs 32GB of internal memory, but keep in mind that the smartphone lacks microSD card slot for storage expansion.

On the back, there's a 20.7-megapixel photo snapper with laser autofocus, dual-LED flash f/2.0 aperture, Sony IMX220 Exmor sensor and 4K video recording. It's also worth mentioning there's a 5-megapixel camera in the front for selfies and video calls.

Meizu MX5 sports a large 5.5-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

The smartphone runs Flyme OS 4.5 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop, but there's no telling whether or not Meizu will release an upgrade to Marshmallow anytime in the future.

Last but not least, the MX5 is powered by a 3,150 mAh battery and offers many connectivity options including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS with AGPS support and microUSB 2.0.
