14 DAY TRIAL // Many smartphone manufacturers choose to release limited editions of their flagships, one of the most prolific in this regard being Samsung. Meizu is another smartphone maker to follow this trend, and it seems that the company will be introducing a Star Trek Limited Edition Meizu M3E in just a few days.
According to Xiaomi Today, Meizu will be debuting a Star Trek edition of one of its smartphones, the Meizu M3E. The device will be released on September 2, on the same day the "Star Trek 3" premiere takes place in China. It’s worth mentioning that the handset will be available for sale only in China, at the official Meizu Store and other locations.
The Blue Charm model with Star Trek customization will be coming with a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. Other specs include a MediaTek Helio P10 chipset with an octa-core CPU and 3GB of RAM inside.

Rear camera capacity reaches 13MP with f/2.2 aperture, dual-LED, and the option to record 1080p videos. The front camera comes with 5MP and f/2.0 aperture. Internal storage capacity is 32GB with the possibility of expanding to 256GB using a microSD card. The device also comes with a 3,100mAh non-removable battery.
The smartphone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and sports a metallic blue design. It also has the Star Trek logo on the back and comes with some content that's related to the film. Fans will also get a Star Trek badge together with the smartphone.
Meizu M3E Star Trek Limited Edition is expected to carry a price tag of about $225, and the company will only be releasing 5,000 units of this smartphone.
Samsung recently introduced the Galaxy S7 edge Batman-themed Injustice Edition, with the company being known to release special editions of its flagships for the launch of various sci-fi movies.
