We reported last week that Meizu would launch the M2 in India on October 12. Today, the Chinese company officially introduced the affordable smartphone in the country and confirmed its price tag and availability.

Customers in India will be able to purchase Meizu's M2 smartphone on October 12 exclusively via Snapdeal, a new report confirms.

As expected, the handset will be on the very cheap side, as consumers will be able to buy one for just Rs 6,999 outright, which is about $110 or €95.

According to Meizu India, the M2 will be available in the country in four color options: Blue, Grey, Pink and White. However, in order to be sure that you will be able to get one, you will have to register on Snapdeal beginning October 11.

The Meizu M2 is a decent smartphone for the price you pay. On top of that, the M2 has been pretty popular in China since its launch back in July, so it will certainly sell very well in India too.

Don't forget to register if you want to buy the phone

Moving on to specs, the M2 will ship in India with the Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box with Flyme 4.5 OS on top.

Hardware-wise, Meizu M2 is equipped with a 64-bit 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6753 processor, a Mali T720 graphics processing unit, and 2GB of RAM.

The smartphone comes with 16GB of storage inside, but users can further expand internal memory up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

Meizu M2 sports a 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution and features AGC DragonTrail glass coating for extra protection.

On the back, the M2 packs a 13-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, 5P lenses and full HD (1080p) video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

Meizu's affordable smartphone is powered by a 2,500 mAh battery and offers both 4G LTE and dual-SIM support (hybrid dual-SIM).
