14 DAY TRIAL // As expected, Meizu introduced a new smartphone that will most likely sell like hot cakes in China due to its low price and more than decent specs.
The Blue Charm Metal is a mid-range Android smartphone with high-end specs. The strong point of the phone is the fact that it comes equipped with MediaTek's Helio X10 chipset that packs an octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz and 2GB of RAM.
The smartphone is already available for pre-order and will go on sale on November 2. An international version is expected to be released sometime in December.
The good news is Meizu Blue Charm Metal will be available for just 1,099 yuan ($175 / €150) for the 16GB, or 1,299 yuan ($205 / €180) for the 32GB model. Customers will be able to choose from many different colors including blue, grey, gold, pink, and white.
Moving on to specs, Meizu's mid-range smartphone comes preloaded with Alibaba's YunOS and the new Flyme 5.0 UI on top of it.
Powerful CPU, fingerprint scanner, and metal body
Aside from the powerful Helio X10 processor, the Blue Charm Metal sports a 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and is covered by a protective Dinorex T2X-1 glass with 2.5D effect.
The smartphone features hybrid dual-SIM, which means owners will be able to use the second SIM slot to insert an SD memory card.
On the back, Meizu Blue Charm Metal packs a 13-megapixel shooter with autofocus, dual-tone dual LED flash and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel selfie camera.
Meizu's phone comes with fingerprint scanner, which is positioned right under the Home button. LTE support is included as well, along with a high-capacity 3,140 mAh battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.
As the name suggests, the smartphone features a metal body, which at this price is a great deal for those looking for a solid device with above average specs.
