Five security experts get inducted into the Cybersecurity Hall of Fame for their key contributions to IT security

This upcoming Thursday, October 29, the Cybersecurity Hall of Fame is holding a banquet to induct its most recent members of the class of 2015.

The Cybersecurity Hall of Fame, established in 2012, is designed to honor people that made key contributions to the world of IT and Internet security.

Cynthia E. Irvine - Distinguished Professor of Computer Science at the Naval Postgraduate School. She contributed to the world of IT security through curriculum development, educational tools, and her work in cyber operations.

Susan Landau - Professor of Cybersecurity Policy in Worcester Polytechnic Institute. She is the author of numerous books on cybersecurity and has been a Senior Staff Privacy Analyst at Google and a Distinguished Engineer at Sun Microsystems.

Steven B. Lipner - Retired Director of Software Security in Trustworthy Computing Security at Microsoft. Mr. Lipner holds 12 U.S. patents with two pending applications in the field of computer and network security and is also the co-author of The Security Development Lifecycle book.

Ron Ross - Member of the National Institute of Standards and Technology. Ron Ross is the man behind the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) security standard. Previously, Mr. Ross also received the NSA Scientific Achievement Award, Defense Superior Service Medal, Department of Commerce Gold and Silver Medals, and three Federal 100 Awards.

Jerome H. Saltzer - Professor Emeritus of Computer Science Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Mr. Saltzer helped design the Multics time-sharing system and the Kerberos single-login authentication system.
