14 DAY TRIAL // This Friday, Matt Damon returns to the big screen with one of the most hyped releases of the fall, the Ridley Scott-directed space-set thriller “The Martian.” To promote it, he’s been doing lots of interviews and media appearances, including a stop on James Corden’s talk show.
Like many of his late-night peers / rivals, Corden too has been working hard to make a couple of humoristic sketches into a trademark: the Carpool Karaoke segment and the one in which he and an actor recreate the actor’s entire career in only a few minutes.
His previous video of the latter type, with Arnold Schwarzenegger, became a viral sensation, so he asked Damon to continue the tradition. The result is in the video below: this is Matt Damon’s career in approximately 8 minutes… if it were presented to you by 2 kids playing actors.
Needless to say, because of the many film references it includes, this video is a must-see only for Damon’s loyal fans, who are acquainted with even his most obscure films.
“The Martian” is also included, with Corden playing an alien that takes Damon’s stranded astronaut completely by surprise. That probably doesn’t happen in the real film, but we won’t find out until Friday, October 2, when it opens in theaters in the US and overseas.
