14 DAY TRIAL // After being delayed a few months ago, Marvel’s Midnight Suns now has a new release date that has been announced during Summer Game Fest live show. Developed by Firaxis Games, the same team behind the legendary XCOM and Civilizations franchises, Marvel’s Midnight Suns will be released on October 7 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store). In addition, Firaxis announced that a Nintendo Switch version of the game will be available at a later date.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a turn-based strategy game with RPG elements that uses superheroes from the Marvel universe. Characters have their unique powers and skills, which can be upgraded in various ways to fit different playstyles.
“We know fans have been eager to see what’s coming next for Marvel’s Midnight Suns. We’re honored by the opportunity to introduce so many new heroes and villains to Marvel fans and can’t wait for tactics players to discover the joys of fighting like a Super Hero in Marvel’s Midnight Suns,” said Jake Solomon, Creative Director at Firaxis Games.
Along with the release date, Firaxis launched a brand-new cinematic trailer that showcases the Midnight Suns in action against Lilith’s army, joined by two newly revealed and unlockable playable heroes, including Spider-Man.
In related news, publisher 2K revealed that Marvel’s Midnight Suns will be available in four editions: Standard Edition, Enhanced Edition, Digital+ Edition, and Legendary Edition. The cheapest one, the Standard Edition, will be available for $70 / €70 / £60. The Enhanced Edition will be available for $75 / €75 / £65, and it includes a next-gen optimized version of the game for next-gen consoles and five premium cosmetic skins.
The Digital+ Edition will cost $75 / €75 / £70, and it includes 11 premium cosmetic skins. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions include the next-gen optimized version of the game for next-gen consoles. Finally, the Legendary Edition will be available for $100 / €100 / £90, and it includes 23 premium cosmetic skins, as well as access to the post-launch Marvel’s Midnight Suns Season Pass.
