Proof that aliens live on the Red Planet?

Alien hunters are at it again. Their latest headlines-grabbing discovery: a circular rocks assembly on Mars that bears a striking resemblance to Stonehenge.

Apparently, conspiracy theorists find this extraterrestrial arrangement of stones on the Red Planet so similar to our Stonehenge in Wiltshire, England, they're calling it Marshenge.

Truth be told, the resemblance is uncanny

The newly discovered Marshenge is described by alien hunters as a cluster of large stones positioned atop a perfectly circular platform. Check out the photo below to have a look at it yourselves.

Of these rocks, the ones on the outside of the formation appear to be arranged in two concentric circles. Then there are also some other rocks that seem to form a square inside of the circles.

“This is something remarkable. It's two circles of rocks and one square in its center,” Scott C. Waring of UFO Sightings Daily said in an interview, as cited by Express.

Admittedly, the stones that make up this supposed monument on Mars aren't an exact match for the ones that comprise Stonehenge, but the cluster does resemble the prehistoric structure.

So much so that conspiracy theorists cannot help but wonder whether the same people that built Stonehenge might not have traveled to the Red Planet to build Marshenge too.

Then again, it could also be that Stonehenge itself was not erected by an ancient culture here on Earth, but from visitors who traveled to our planet all the way from Mars, alien hunters believe.

Sorry, there are no aliens on Mars, scientists say

Researchers have been studying the Red Planet for years now. They've sent a small army's worth of rovers and orbiters to this cosmic neighbor of ours, and yet they've not found any evidence whatsoever of an alien civilization, alive or long gone.

Admittedly, there are some features on Mars that look rather odd, and there are also rocks that resemble things we have here on Earth. Still, these are just geological quirks and not proof of extraterrestrials populating the Red Planet, scientists say.
