Jump into the chaotic frenzy as early as November 5

SEGA has just announced yet another upcoming title for the Switch – Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. The game will release in the United States on November 5 and will cost $60, whereas European gamers will be able to play it starting November 8.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 will include three new Dream Events: Dream Shooting, Dream Karate, and Dream Racing. In the former, players will aim and take fire at a range of targets placed all around a traditional Japanese manor. This is a competitive score-based event, which lets players score even more by targeting flying kites that will occasionally appear during a match for bonus points.

In Dream Karate, players will fight to light up the most blank spaces featured on a floor to expand their territory. Every space where an enemy falls when hit by you will light up. Obviously, the player or team that lights up the most spaces at the end of the round is the winner.

Last but not least, Dream Racing lets players hop on a hoverboard and zoom race a course filled with question-mark power-ups and challenging obstacles while performing tricks to earn a speed boost.

SEGA also revealed that Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 will feature a brand new story, 10 classic 2D events, lots a new 3D events, split-screen and online multiplayer, as well as the option to play with iconic characters like Mario, Sonic, Luigi, Knuckles, Peach, Amy, Dr. Eggman, Yoshi, Tails, Metal Sonic, Donkey Kong and more.

Keep in mind that Joy-Con functionality does not extend to all events included in the game. Also, an Internet connection will be required during online play, which means that you must have a Nintendo Account and a paid online membership.
