14 DAY TRIAL // Mariah Carey and her Australian billionaire James Packer have only been dating since May this year, but things are getting very, very serious between them: an Australian tabloid, New Idea, claims that Mariah is now pregnant with Packer’s baby.
This will be Mariah’s third child and his fourth. Mariah struggled a lot to conceive the twins she has with estranged husband Nick Cannon, so no wonder the report notes that she’s “thrilled” that she’s with child again.
Mariah and James are very serious
The two made their first appearance together as a couple in June, when he invited her, her kids and her entourage to accompany him on a vacation in Europe, on his personal yacht. There were many opportunities for paparazzi to photograph them, and in a few days’ time, Mariah and James no longer saw the need to hide from them the nature of their relationship.
Also then, rumors started to circulate that they were so smitten with each other that they had decided to get engaged as soon as possible, in the hope of tying the knot as soon as Mariah could, i.e. when her divorce from Nick became final.
Apparently, though the relationship was new, James had been pursuing Mariah for a few months, after he’d seen her in concert and met her in Las Vegas. Eventually, he got her to agree going on a date with him, and from there, things progressed quickly.
Now, the Aussie tab (via Daily Mail) claims that they’re having a child.
Mariah is pregnant at 45
“Mariah found out the baby news recently and they're overjoyed at the prospect of being parents,” an inside source tells the publication.
The report comes with a photo of Mariah at the beach outside her brand new Malibu rental, on a day out playing with twins Moroccan and Monroe. See the second photo in the gallery for it. It shows the singer wearing tight black pants and a white shirt, which admittedly reveals the existence of a “baby bump.”
To fans hoping Mariah is really pregnant, a word of caution: the photo is not proof, especially since Mariah has been struggling with her weight in recent months. In other words, the “baby bump” could be nothing short of a few extra pounds she carries on her tummy.
As for how serious the relationship with Packer is, it seems that those reports are at least partially true. They might not be in any rush to get married, but they’re smitten enough for Mariah to gush about him in concert (also in Vegas), praising him for giving her “a new heart,” which turned out to be a gorgeous necklace with a yellow, heart-shaped diamond in the center.
