14 DAY TRIAL // Mariah Carey must have the entire world revolve around her, and usually, this is the kind of stuff that she can get away with. However, it’s turning into a real problem on the set of the upcoming Hallmark movie “A Christmas Melody,” with which she’s making her directorial debut.
The film is currently under production in Cincinnati, in line with a December 19 air date, as part of the special Christmas programming on the network. Mariah’s diva antics might derail it from the schedule, a new report in InTouch Weekly claims.
Mariah is “constantly napping” or taking selfies
A source from the set tells the weekly that Mariah is such a diva that even now when she has so many people depending on her being a teamplayer, she refuses to be one.
For starters, she’s “constantly napping” on the set because she won’t forgo her beauty sleep. And it’s not just that she takes one nap during the working day that’s the problem: the insider says that she does it “constantly,” to the point where the team has to schedule shooting around her naps or else they would get no work done.
“Our day revolves around her nap schedule,” the spy dishes. “That would be understandable if she were performing, but she's been driven to set every day and not doing much [physical] activity.”
As if that weren’t bad enough, when she’s not napping, Mariah seems more interested in taking selfies than of actually doing the job she’s paid to do, i.e. direct the movie. The same source says that she can spend up to an hour smiling for the camera, whilst keeping everyone else (actors, production crew) waiting in their positions for her to resume work.
Impossible diva demands
Mariah was recently gushing on social media about how thrilled she was to be making her directorial debut - and with a Christmas movie, no less! - but on set, she acts as if finding the right shade of lipgloss is more important, the spy continues.
She’s making other, ultimately diva-ish demands as well, including asking to have someone on call all the hours she is on set, whose only job is to hold her glass or cup, from which she sips through a straw. Mariah’s lips must never touch anything else but a straw, apparently.
As per the same report, Mariah even asked for a second luxury trailer to be set up on set, so her dog would not feel too homesick.
