Manjaro developers have just released the tenth update for the Manjaro 0.8.13 version of the operating system and they have upgraded quite a few packages.

The updates for the Manjaro distros are quite impressive and they usually bring more than just a few upgrades for various default packages. The latest update does this as well, and besides the regular upgrade we now also have options for Pamac, which now has optional AUR support. It's not clear for how long these updates will be released, but previous versions stopped after the eleventh.

Manjaro is a Linux distribution based on Arch Linux that has a rather different release model. Unlike Arch, Manjaro is not a rolling release distro, but its developers do try to incorporate most of the work that's done on the base system. They also try to integrate the latest Linux kernels and new features as soon as possible.

What's new in Manjaro

"We are happy to announce our tenth update for Manjaro 0.8.13. With this we updated most of our kernels, KDE frameworks to 5.13.0, mesa to 10.6.5, VirtualBox to 5.0.2, fixed some issues with our Steam client and renewed our KDE theme Maia. This new look will be included in our Manjaro 2015.09 release. Some work went into consolekit and the development branch of Calamares," said the developers on the official blog.

They explained that users can now enable and disable the check for updates in Pamac, hide the tray icon when no updates are available, a new button to refresh mirrors list has been added, AUR support is now disabled if yaourt is not installed, and checking updates from AUR is now up to the user.

The currently supported Linux kernels are: 3.10.87, 3.12.46, 3.13.11.25, 3.14.51, 3.16.7.16, 3.18.20, 3.19.8.5, 4.0.9 (EOL), 4.1.6, and 4.2 RC7. You can download Manjaro 0.8.13 from Softpedia and upgrade to the latest version via the regular channels.
