Tuxedo Computers has teased new laptops coming with high-end specs, including an AMD Ryzen model that would specifically be aimed at competing against Dell XPS 13.

Manjaro Lead Project Developer Philip Müller confirmed in an interview with Forbes that a partnership with Tuxedo Computers will bring us several new Linux laptops powered by Intel’s 10th Generation Core i7 chips.

In essence updated versions of the InfinityBook Pro 15 model, the Manjaro-powered laptops will boast a maximum of 64GB RAM and feature 2TB SSD storage thanks to a Samsung EVO Plus NVMe drive.

Like several other Tuxedo Computers, all devices support aftermarket upgrades without losing warranty.

“All devices have a maintenance-friendly design. Depending on the model, the essential hardware components such as processor, drive, hard disks, RAM, WIFI modules etc. can be accessed via maintenance flaps or removable floor trays,” Tuxedo explains in the description of its laptops.

Watch out, Dell!

But the new cool kid on the block could be a new Intel-powered laptop running Manajaro and described by Müller as a Dell XPS 13 killer.

The device will feature 32GB RAM, two NVMe drives and tip the scales at 1.2 kilos. It’ll adopt a modern form factor that reminds of Windows laptops.

“It’s 10th-generation Intel based, we will have it in 14-inch with a 180-degree lid, so you can lay it flat on your desk if you like,” the Manjaro official explained, adding that an AMD laptop is also in the works.

“Yes, we are currently evaluating which models we want to use because the industry is screaming for that,” Müller told the cited source. “In the upcoming weeks we might get some of those for internal testing. Once they’re certified and the drivers are ready, we’ll see when we can launch those.”

Tuxedo Computers is already selling several Linux laptops. Pricing starts at 815 EUR for the InfinityBook 14 v2 and goes all the way up to 3,249 EUR for the Book XUX509 Deep Learning AI Edition and mobile workstation.
