14 DAY TRIAL // Just the other day, police officers in the city of Sandy in Utah, US, arrested a man who, in a fit of range, smeared hot sauce and salad dressing on his girlfriend, and then tried to force her in the oven.
Apparently, the man, identified as 31-year-old Joseph Anthony Castellanos, was seriously angry that his girlfriend had dared defy him and refused to come see him at work, as instructed.
The man did more than just smear sauce on his girlfriend
Information shared with the public says that the incident happened last Thursday, July 9, at about 9:30 a.m. Having returned home from work, 31-year-old Joseph Anthony Castellanos lashed out at his girlfriend for failing to visit him on the job.
The woman took a serious beating. According to the law enforcement officers investigating the case, the man punched her, kicked her, hit her with a belt and stabbed her with a fork. Eventually, he poured hot sauce and salad dressing over her body and tried to force her in the oven.
The woman managed to get away and hid in the bathroom. She used a phone that Joseph Anthony Castellanos didn't know she had to call the police, and soon enough, a crew arrived at the couple's home to investigate the incident.
The following day, 31-year-old Joseph Anthony Castellanos was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, kidnapping and intentional criminal mischief. Since he also kicked his girlfriend's dog, he also stands accused of animal cruelty, Metro informs.
This wasn't Anthony's first time abusing his girlfriend
It is understood that last Thursday's beating was not Joseph Anthony Castellanos' first time abusing his girlfriend. On the contrary, it appears that he had many times beaten the woman since they moved in together.
In fact, the police are now investigating one other assault that occurred not long ago, on June 12. Once the investigation is complete and the case goes to trial, the 31-year-old will most likely be sentenced to jail time.
