A perfectly flawless plan, no doubt about it

Over the weekend, on Sunday, a most peculiar incident happened in Manchester, New Hampshire. In a nutshell, a man set his own personal ride on fire to prevent local authorities from towing it away.

The car, the property of 40-year-old Shad Badeau, was parked illegally somewhere on 25 Cartier St. Somebody saw it, contacted the police, and a crew was sent to remove it, the New Hampshire Union Leader reports.

Just as the four-wheeler was being lifted onto the tow truck, Shad Badeau showed up. When authorities refused to let him get his car back, he got seriously angry and set it ablaze.

As it turns out, the plan worked like a charm. Taken quite by surprise, the driver of the tow truck unhitched the car, and so the flaming vehicle dropped back on the ground.

Sure, the car was a tad damaged in the fall, not to mention that the flames also did a number on in, but at least 40-year-old Shad Badeau got what he wanted: not have his ride towed away.

Of course, this little stunt was not without consequences

It might be that they were forced to let his car be, but at the end of the day, the law enforcement officers who handled this case still had something to show for what they had been through.

Not to prolong the suspense, they had 40-year-old Shad Badeau with a shiny pair of handcuffs around his wrists. Yup, the man was arrested and charged with arson.

Apparently, it's not OK to set cars on fire smack in the middle of the street, even if they happen to belong to you. If only somebody had told Shad Badeau this before he pulled his little stunt!

As for the car, it is unclear whether it did eventually get towed away once the man had been arrested. What we do know is that, before being taken into custody, the 40-year-old got to put it out himself.
