WhatsApp 22.2.75 is live with plenty of goodies

WhatsApp has released a major update for the iOS version of its app, and this time, iPhone owners are really getting a lot of goodies.

First and foremost, WhatsApp explains that version 22.2.75 brings support for pausing and resuming the recording of voice messages.

In other words, when you record a voice message in a conversation, you can now pause the whole thing and resume it later when you can. If you’ve never used voice messages, you can’t imagine how frustrating the old implementation has really been.

WhatsApp only allowed you to record voice messages in one go, and obviously, if something interrupted you, the only option was to start over. Now thanks to this new feature, you can simply pause and resume the recording as you’d normally expect from a software application aligned with the 2022 expectations.

“You can now pause and resume while recording voice messages. Try it out by swiping up to lock a recording, and then tap the "pause" and "resume" buttons,” WhatsApp explains in the official release notes.

Improved notification UI

At the same time, WhatsApp has also been updated to fully take advantage of the Focus mode in iOS 15, but also with a little surprise for the notification you see on the lock screen when someone sends you a message.

Beginning with this update, WhatsApp displays not only the message and the name of the sender, but also their profile pic. This may not seem much at first, but it’s such a cool update, as the notifications now feel a lot more modern.

“Updated iOS 15 notifications include support for Focus mode and displaying group and profile photos alongside notifications,” WhatsApp says in the release notes.

You can download the new version of WhatsApp from the App Store right now to enjoy all the new features and the updated notification design.
