Release date is confirmed by China Mobile's roadmap

We already know about Samsung's plans to launch the Galaxy S7 slightly earlier, but a release date hasn't been confirmed by the South Korean company.

Luckily, major carrier China Mobile might help with that since the operator's roadmap has just been revealed in the Mainland and posted online.

According to China Mobile's roadmap for 2016, the Galaxy S7 will be available for purchase in China beginning mid-March. The smartphone will be officially unveiled in late February, ahead of Mobile World Congress trade fair.

Along with the Galaxy S7, the Chinese carrier will also offer the Galaxy A5 (2016) and Galaxy A7 (2016), but there's no mention of another flagship smartphone that might be released during the same timeframe.

Samsung's goal is to launch the first flagship of the year, and it looks like the company's plans might succeed. Even though there might be another top-of-the-line smartphone launched around the same period such as the Xiaomi Mi5, we doubt it will have the same impact on the market.

If Samsung manages to launch the Galaxy S7 on the market in mid-March, it will mark another milestone for the South Korean company that usually made its flagships available one or two months after their unveiling.

Price is above $470

It's also worth mentioning that China Mobile's roadmap mentions the Galaxy S7 will be priced above 3,000 yuan ($470 / €425) outright.

However, that could mean any price above that amount, so there's not much to work with at the moment. Rumor has it that Samsung might price the Galaxy S7 more aggressively than its predecessors, so it won't come as a surprise if the smartphone will cost only $650 (€650) off contract.

As we're getting close to MWC 2016, we expect more details on Samsung's Galaxy S7 flagship smartphone, so stay tuned.
