GUST, the developer behind the iconic Atelier franchise, has just announced their upcoming game Fairy Tail will no longer launch on March 19. It appears the Japanese studio couldn't handle two franchises and decided to give itself more time to finish Fairy Tail.

That being said, GUST confirmed the release date for Fairy Tail has been moved to June 26, which should ensure it's as high quality as possible, producer Keisuke Kikuchi said in a statement.

I am truly sorry for FAIRY TAIL’s delay, and the inconvenience caused to our fans, partners, and stakeholders who are looking forward to this title. Please allow us to take further time to polish the game to ensure it is as high quality as possible, so we can offer you a truly immersive experience. We will be working hard to enhance the magic effects, event scene effects, improving the game balance and more! We will talk about the improvements in more detail in the coming months. This delay will allow us to ensure we provide you a much more satisfying game. Thank you for your understanding.”

Fairy Tail is not part of the Atelier series, but a completely different franchise. Anime fans probably know that Fairy Tail is a well-known manga set in a world of mages and wizards. GUST and Koei Tecmo have decided that the popular manga and anime deserve the video game treatment, so come June 26, JRPG fans will be able to get their hands on Fairy Tale.

GUST's upcoming magical JRPG will be released on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Also, a digital deluxe version of Fairy Tail has been announced recently, which includes a special Grand Magic Games costume, a bonus Lacrima set, and a DDX Limited Ryza costume for Lucy, one of the main characters in the game.

Moreover, players who purchase any version of the game, physically or digitally, within a limited time from launch will also unlock the Early Purchase Bonus special costume for Erza.
