Microsoft Lumia 950 is the second Windows 10 Mobile handset that passes FCC's (Federal Communications Commission) approval and is now ready for release.

Although the Redmond-based company did not confirm when exactly the Lumia 950 would be available for purchase in the United States, everything points at a late November release.

The Lumia 950 XL already received its certification at FCC not long ago, so there's a high chance that both Windows 10 Mobile handsets will arrive in the United States around the same timeframe.

Unfortunately for Microsoft and Windows Phone fans alike, the Lumia 950 will be available at AT&T only. Other carriers might introduce one or more Windows 10 Mobile handsets in the coming months, but we have no confirmation yet.

Obviously, any customer that wants to own either of the two Lumia high-end smartphones will be able to get it via Microsoft's online store for its outright price.

It should go on sale later this month

Both Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL are already available for pre-order in various European countries, but they will only hit shelves starting late November / early December.

The third Windows 10 Mobile smartphone announced by Microsoft two months ago, the Lumia 550, won't be launched on the market until December at the earliest.

Since FCC has already approved Microsoft's Lumia 950, we expect AT&T to announce exactly when it will launch the smartphone and when it will be able to start shipping all orders.

In other news, Windows 10 Mobile RTM is likely to arrive in the next few weeks, as Microsoft is now readying the release candidate version for Windows Insiders.

Those who own high-end Lumia smartphones powered by Windows Phone 8.1 will start receiving the Windows 10 Mobile upgrade from December, Microsoft confirmed. However, ETA for these updates may vary by country and carrier.
