Since the first rumors about the new Lumia smartphones included the possible inclusion of iris scanners, everyone wanting a powerful Windows Phone got excited.

Now that we're just a few weeks ahead of their official release on the market, we're still not sure how some of the new features promised by Microsoft will work on the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL smartphones.

Take Windows Hello, which is supposed to scan and recognize your iris. This feature was demoed weeks ago, but some were a bit disappointed that it works a bit slower than expected.

However, on a more positive note, it looks like the iris scanner embedded onto Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL smartphones will be able to recognize your iris even when you wear sunglasses.

In fact, the iris scanner is supposed to work in dark areas without any issues. The information was provided by Microsoft insider Nawzil, though we will only be able to verify it when the smartphones hit shelves, so take it with a pinch of salt until then.

Many more interesting features are waiting to be discovered

Windows Hello is one of the many features that set Microsoft's Lumia handsets apart from other flagships available on the market.

Continuum is another one, and there are more services and apps that could make the new Lumia phones more appealing to some consumers.

Unfortunately, Microsoft doesn't seem too eager to make the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL available on the market.

The Redmond-based company recently kicked off pre-orders in some European countries, but it will take several more weeks until the first stocks arrive.

Microsoft has a very busy schedule these last couple of months with the release of three Lumia smartphones and the new Windows 10 Mobile operating system. Hopefully, there will be time for some Windows 10 Mobile updates as well.
