Another day, another game that gets delayed due to COVID-19 pandemic. Square Enix announced that Life is Strange: Remastered Collection will no longer released on September 30 as previously announced.

Although Deck Nine’s Life is Strange: True Colors is still on track for a September 10 launch, due to the challenges of the worldwide pandemic and the fact that two Life is Strange titles were supposed to be released in less than a month, Life is Strange: Remastered Collection has been delayed into early 2022.

In a post on Twitter, the Life is Strange team explained the reasons behind its decision to delay the launch of Life is Strange: Remastered Collection. You can read the relevant excerpt below:

However, due to the ongoing challenges of the worldwide pandemic, we want to alleviate any additional pressure on the Life is Strange team by giving more time between the release of Life is Strange: True Colors and the Life is Strange: Remastered Collection. For this reason, we have made the difficult decision to delay the release of the Life is Strange: Remastered Collection for all platforms – PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Stadia, and Switch – until Early 2022.”

Meanwhile, Square Enix revealed that after Life is Strange: True Colors releases on September 10, a new DLC starring Steph Gingrich, Life is Strange: Wavelengths, will be launched on September 30, which should have coincided with the release of Life is Strange: Remastered Collection.

Equally important for Life is Strange fans is the fact that Square Enix promised to offer players a first look at the new DLC via a trailer that will be released this week.

Keep in mind that if you plan to purchase both games, you can get the Life is Strange: True Colors Ultimate Edition and you’ll receive the two Life is Strange: Remastered Collection games for free, it’s just that these will arrive next year.
