The Document Foundation announced today that the LibreOffice 6.1 office suite series got its sixth and last point release as version 6.1.6, which is now available to download for all supported platforms.

LibreOffice 6.1.6 is now available for Linux, Windows, and Mac platforms, coming three months after the release of LibreOffice 6.1.5 back in February when The Document Foundation launched the latest LibreOffice 6.2 office suite series. It's a maintenance update that includes a total 57 bug fixes for various of LibreOffice's components.

"This is a more mature version of the software which includes some months of back-ported fixes," said Italo Vignoli in a press release. "Organizations looking for an enterprise class application backed by support and service level agreements (SLA) should source a LibreOffice LTS (Long Term Supported) version from those TDF Advisory Board members."

LibreOffice 6.1 reaches end of life on May 29, 2019

Launched in August 2018, the LibreOffice 6.1 office suite is nearing its end-of-support date later this month on May 29th, when The Document Foundation will no longer support the LibreOffice 6.1 office suite series with maintenance updates and security patches. Therefore, we recommend all LibreOffice 6.1 users to upgrade to LibreOffice 6.2.

If you can't upgrade your LibreOffice 6.1 installations to the latest LibreOffice 6.2 release, which is LibreOffice 6.2.3 at the moment of writing, at least make sure you install today's LibreOffice 6.1.6 point release, which further improves the stability, reliability, and security of the LibreOffice 6.1 office suite.

As usual, you can download LibreOffice 6.1.6 for GNU/Linux, macOS, and Windows right now from our free software portal. Upgrading to LibreOffice 6.2 is highly recommended and it's quite easy to do it on any of the supported platforms. The LibreOffice 6.2 office suite will be supported until November 30th, 2019.
