The upcoming flagship won't come with two displays

The world's first smartphone to ship with Android 7.0 Nougat which was announced this year, the LG V20, has already made its debut on the market. However, the South Korean company has decided against rolling out the phone worldwide.

Instead, the V20's availability is limited to South Korea and the United States. For some reason, LG believes that its current flagship won't be able to compete with other high-end smartphones in Europe, even though there aren't too many other flagships to compete with in the first place.

Now that Samsung doesn't have the Galaxy Note 7 on sale and Huawei's Mate 9 flagship hasn't hit shelves yet, it's only Apple's iPhone 7 that could compete with the LG V20.

LG confirmed earlier this week that it sold around 200,000 units of the V20 in the United States, which isn't that much for a flagship smartphone, though it might be good enough for the V series.

Some LG V20 owners have complained that the secondary V20 display is more of a gimmick rather than a functionality that they can use in times of need.

Although the handset maker wished to implement a unique feature that would make its V series stand out from other high-end phones, it looks like not many are especially thrilled about the secondary display, on the contrary.

That's probably one of the reasons the next V series phone won't come with a secondary display any longer.

According to Evan Blass, LG is considering ditching the V series' second screen. He has even mentioned that he's already in possession of some early LG V30 renders, which he hasn't yet posted.

The LG V30 is expected to be unveiled next year in the fall, so the South Korean company would have enough time to change its mind. There's also enough time for us to learn even more about the company's upcoming V series phone.
