14 DAY TRIAL // LG has been rumored to launch the successor to the V10 for quite some time, and information on the new device has already surfaced online. The company has also announced that the LG V20 will arrive in September and will be the first smartphone to run Android 7.0 Nougat before the Nexus handsets are released.
LG has just announced that its LG V20 will debut on September 6 in San Francisco and in Seoul the following day. It was believed that LG would unveil the new device during IFA, in early September, but it seems that the company has decided to organize an event of its own.
LG has already sent out press invited to the event, and two tag lines stand out: "Play More" and "The second story begins." The company hasn't revealed any other details about the event or the upcoming smartphone, but word is that the V series could become the new flagship line, after the G5 didn't perform as expected.
Leaked specs point to the V20 running Snapdragon 820
Specs of the LG V20 surfaced just a few days ago, and they show that the upcoming smartphone will run a 64-bit quad-core SoC Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor coupled with an Adreno 530 graphics processing unit.
The smartphone is also projected to come with a 20MP rear camera and an 8MP unit on the front. In addition, it could come in two variants, one with 3GB of RAM while the other would have 4GB of RAM. Internal storage could reach either 32GB or 64GB. What's more, the smartphone could draw power from a 4,000mAh battery, and it might come with USB Type-C ports.
Since the V10 came with a secondary display, there are high chances that its successor will also have an added screen for more functionality, but that remains to be seen. With one month left until the unveiling, information on the upcoming smartphone is bound to continue to appear.
