LG is readying yet another mid-range Android smartphone for the US market. This time, the South Korean company has teamed up with Verizon Wireless to offer customers the Optimus Zone 3.

Although the smartphones haven't been officially confirmed yet, famous leakster @evleaks published an official press render of the LG Optimus Zone 3 and stated that it would soon be launched at Verizon.

Unfortunately, the picture doesn't come with any information regarding Optimus Zone 3's specs, but judging by the fact that it will be available on Verizon prepaid, it's safe to assume that it won't cost much.

We also know that this is a 4G-enabled smartphone, as suggested by the logo on the back cover. It looks like the Optimus Zone 3 will ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, but LG might offer a Marshmallow upgrade in the future.

The picture leaked recently also shows the LG Optimus Zone 3 will feature on-screen navigation buttons, a camera with LED flash on the back, as well as a secondary camera in the front.

Don't expect anything out of the ordinary

Even though the rest of the phone's specs are still a mystery, we can guess the Optimus Zone 3 will be placed in the lower tier of mid-range Android smartphones.

The upcoming smartphone is the sequel to Optimus Zone 2 (obviously), which can be easily tagged as an entry-level device.

LG Optimus Zone 2 sports a small 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 320 x 480 pixels resolution. It also packs a 3-megapixel camera on the back and a 1,700 mAh battery.

On the inside, the Optimus Zone 2 comes equipped with a modest dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor, coupled with only 512MB of RAM.

We suspect the sequel to the Optimus Zone 3 will have some of the specs improved, like a larger display and an increased amount of RAM and storage.

A better rear-facing camera might be included as well. No word on availability and pricing yet, but stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
