14 DAY TRIAL // LG has been pretty clear about the V20 not coming to Europe. As much as European Android fans would have wanted to buy the company's flagship, no retailer or carrier in the region has been able to stock the phone.
However, it looks like there's a reason for LG being so drastic about the launch of the V20 in European countries. Apparently, the South Korean company has another V20 version especially tailored for the smartphone markets in Europe.
The unannounced phone is called LG V20 S and is likely to be officially unveiled by the end of the year. Obviously, it makes sense for this version of the V20 to come with different specs, so let's see if the V20 S remains an interesting flagship after the changes LG operated.
Well, first of all, the LG V20 S, which is already available in South Korea as LG isai Beat, sports a much smaller 5.2-inch display, whereas the original V20 boasts a large 5.7-inch display. The good news is the V20 S retains the Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.
Also, the V20 S comes with a lesser amount of storage, as the isai Beat packs only 32GB internal memory as compared to the V20 that includes a whopping 64GB. Naturally, it comes with microSD card for memory expansion, so that shouldn't be problem.
One thing that the V20 S has and the V20 doesn't is water resistance, but the rest of the former's specs are similar to the latter's. This means that the European (or international) version of the V20 will come with the same powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 3,000 mAh battery.
On the back, the phone will feature a dual photo snapper (16MP + 8MP) with advanced features like laser autofocus, OIS (optical image stabilization), LED flash and 4K video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for selfies.
It's also worth noting that, just like the LG V20, its international sibling will ship with Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box.
