One of the cheapest smartphones powered by Android Nougat, the LG K8 (2017), has just made its debut at U.S. Cellular. The handset was launched in the United States back in January, but only T-Mobile and MetroPCS offered the device, which was named LG Aristo.

However, customers who prefer U.S. Cellular over other carriers in the United States can now pick the LG K8 2017 for just $50 on prepay (after a $100 online discount).

The LG K8 (2017) is a decent budget-friendly smartphone that offers high value for what you pay. Aside from the Android 7.0 Nougat OS that comes on board, the handset is equipped with a 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor.

Furthermore, LG announced the K8 (2017) would pack 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB storage inside, which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.

This isn't a dual-SIM smartphone, but those looking for an affordable smartphone will be pleased to know LG has added 4G LTE support for blazing fast speeds.

LG K8 (2017) sports a 5-inch display that supports HD (720p) resolution. It's also powered by a removable 2,500 mAh battery that should provide enough juice for at least two days of average usage.

When it comes to camera, the LG K8 (2017) packs a fairly impressive 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, f/2.2 aperture and LED flash, while in the front there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

It lacks USB Type-C port, but LG included microUSB 2.0 (OTG) port, FM Radio, GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity. Surprisingly, a fingerprint sensor is available on the back of the phone as well.

On a side note, the phone was released in South Korea as LG X300, but has yet to make its debut in Europe and other regions. We expect LG to expand K8 (2017)'s availability in the coming weeks.
