Since MWC 2017 is upon us, it's no wonder we're hit with even more information about unreleased products. The G6 is one of the smartphones that have been in the center of some of the leaks in the last couple of days, but LG has just confirmed some of the details that we've recently learned.

Following our recent report about the LG G6's so-called “Full Vision” display, the South Korean company confirmed the name of the screen, as well as some of its technical specifications.

An MWC 2017 invite teases LG's G6 flagship as having a “big screen that fits” and showing a bezel-less device. Moreover, the handset maker states the smartphone will indeed boast a large 5.7-inch curved-edge display that supports a rather unusual 1,440 x 2,880 pixel resolution (18:9 aspect ratio).

The company also mentions that “it applied a curved design to the edge of the LG G6 display to give it a soft and sophisticated feel. Except for the smartphone screen, the remaining parts are not expressed, so expectations for the product design have increased.”

LG added a heat pipe to avoid overheating

Another interesting piece of information revealed by LG is the addition of a heat pipe inside its smartphones, which is meant to lower the heat emitted by the Qualcomm chipset.

The G6 will not come equipped with the Snapdragon 835 processor, but it's expected to include the quad-core Snapdragon 821 CPU.

According to LG, the G6 will be announced during a press conference that will be held on February 26 in Barcelona, Spain. Nearly 1,000 people will attend the launch event, which is said to last about 100 minutes.

Although the LG G6 will be announced in late February, the phone will not hit the shelves until late March. We're also expecting the flagship to arrive in some countries in April or May.
