LG is expected to announce the successor to the not-so-successful G5 next year and some details about the upcoming phone have been leaking for some time now. The latest report comes with information regarding the phone’s back panel and front display.

The LG G6 is said to come with a non-modular design and a 3D glass panel on the back, as well as a 2.5D display in the front. This means that the screen on the upcoming G6 will have almost no side bezels and a slightly curved glass at the end.

The report by The Android Soul also mentions that the G6 flagship will come with wireless charging and water-resistant features. It was about time the G6 received such features, considering that the company is competing directly against Samsung’s Galaxy phones.

The LG G6 might come with a 5.3-inch display

Some specs of the upcoming smartphone have leaked online pointing towards a 5.3-inch display with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution and a Snapdragon 835 processor inside. This would be the latest chipset to be announced by Qualcomm.

The device could also have support for USB Type-C and a 3.5mm earphone jack at the top of the phone. Fortunately, LG won’t be following the trend launched by Motorola and Apple, LG fans will be able to enjoy the regular 3.5mm earphone jack on the upcoming flagship.

Another one of the G6’s selling points will be the rumored dual-camera setup on the back, expected to incorporate dual-tone flash. The phone could have the same measurements as the G5, but its thickness is unknown at this point.

In order to get a head start before Samsung releases the next Galaxy S8 flagship, LG might announce the new G6 during MWC 2017 and make it available in stores by March.
