The update is pushed OTA (over the air), in stages

LG G Stylo is a relatively new smartphone, but those who purchased it from Sprint did not dream to be among the first to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.

In a surprising move, Sprint announced that LG G Stylo phablets are now eligible for Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade, so if you own the device, you might want to check for the update.

According to Sprint, the update is pushed OTA (over the air) in stages, which means that not all LG G Stylo devices might get it at the same time.

However, it shouldn't take more than a couple of days for Android 6.0 Marshmallow to arrive on all LG G Stylo devices at Sprint.

LG G Stylo has been released back in May with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system right out of the box. The smartphone received Android 5.1 Lollipop one month later, and now it looks like LG has decided to offer G Stylo owners the option to upgrade to Marshmallow.

Boost Mobile and T-Mobile versions might follow soon

As some of you might know, LG G Stylo is also available at Boost Mobile, but we don't know whether or not this smartphone will receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow update as well.

Another carrier that has the G Stylo in its portfolio is T-Mobile, but so far the Magenta did not mention anything about a major update for the device.

Still, the fact that Sprint's version got Android 6.0 Marshmallow so fast suggests that LG plans to release the update to other carriers as well.

The global variant of LG G Stylo hasn't been updated either, but there's a high chance that this will be upgraded too.

The only thing that remains now is to wait and see when exactly these updates will be released. We hope that will happen sooner rather than later.
