14 DAY TRIAL // US-based carrier Cricket Wireless has just announced it has added the LG G Stylo and HTC Desire 626s mid-range Android smartphones to its portfolio.
Both devices can now be purchased online and at local retail stores for free with Cricket's plans starting a $35 per month.
Customers that don't want to commit to a long-term contract can grab the LG G Stylo for $200 outright, while the HTC Desire 626s can be had for $150.
The mid-range handsets ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, but there's little chance they will be upgraded to the next major version of the OS.
Spec-wise, the more expensive of the two, LG G Stylo is also the better featured. It comes with a 5.7-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that support HD (720p) resolution.
The G Stylo is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qulcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, which is complemented by 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.
On the back, the smartphone packs an 8-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording. In the front, there's a secondary 5-megapixel camera for video calls and selfies.
Both come with Android 5.1 and LTE support
Moving on to HTC Desire 626s, the device sports a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution. The phone is equipped with a 1.1GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor, an Adreno 304 graphics processing unit and 1.5GB of RAM.
Also, it features 8GB of storage and microSD card slot for memory expansion up to 200GB. In the camera front, the Desire 626s offers an 8-megapixel camera in the back with autofocus, LED flash and HD (720p) resolution, while in the front there's a secondary 2-megapixel camera.
LG G Stylo drains energy from a large 3,000 mAh battery, whereas HTC Desire 626s comes with a much smaller 2,000 mAh battery inside.
