South Korean handset maker LG has just unveiled the sequel to its popular mid-range Android tablet, the G Pad 8.0.

The new LG G Pad II 8.0 have been officially introduced in South Korea, but there's no word on availability and pricing options yet. Since its predecessor has been released globally, we expect the G Pad II 8.0 to be available worldwide as well.

According to a new report, the slate comes with some enhanced features including Microsoft Office apps and full-sized USB port.

In addition, it comes with the LG G Stylo Stylus Pen and other well-known features, including QuickMemo, Knock Code and Qpair support.

The tablet will ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, along with the latest version of LG UX on top. LG will sell the G Pad II 8.0 in two color options: Titanium Black and White Color.

Advanced features but poor specs

Hardware-wise, the slate does not come with anything impressive, so don't expect any high-end specs since this a mid-range tablet.

For example, it features a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, an Adreno 305 graphics processing unit, and 1.5GB of RAM. There are no less than 32GB of storage inside, but users can further expand storage up to 128GB via microSD card slot.

LG G Pad II 8.0 sports an 8-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports 1280 x 800 pixel resolution (203 pixel per inch) and features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 coating.

On the back, there's a 5-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary 2-megapixel selfie camera.

The G Pad II 8.0 is powered by a 4,200 mAh battery and offers a wide range of connectivity options, including GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS with AGPS support.
