The next flagship smartphone won't be announced at CES 2016

LG's G Flex series does not seem to be as popular as the South Korean company would have hoped initially. Many owners of the original model are still disappointed that LG has chosen not to upgrade the smartphone to Android Lollipop.

The good news is that LG G Flex 2 is likely to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow, possibly at the request of users. But there might not be a third sequel to the series as LG definitely doesn't plan to announce one next month at CES 2016 trade fair.

According to a new report coming from South Korean blog Daum (via GforGames), LG G Flex 3 will not be unveiled in early January and chances are the model might have been scrapped altogether.

LG hasn't confirmed this information yet, so we might have an LG G Flex 3 later into the year, but it's not going to make it to CES 2016.

In the same piece of news, LG's flagship smartphone will be launched during a dedicated event so we won't be seeing the G5 at CES or MWC next year.

LG fans should expect an official unveiling for the G5 sometime in April, but the smartphone might not go on sale until a few weeks later.

The sequel to LG V10 should arrive in H2 2016

Aside from the LG G5, the South Korean handset maker plans to launch a sequel to the V10. It appears that the unusual LG V10 was very well received on the market, which is why LG is considering a sequel for next year.

The sequel to the LG V10 will be launched in the second half of 2016, but more details on the smartphone are expected to arrive in the coming months.

That's about all the rumors we got about LG's smartphone roadmap for 2016, but we will probably find out more the closer we get to CES and MWC trade fairs.
