We reported a few days ago that LG's upcoming flagship smartphone, the G5, will feature a semi-modular design, which will allow users to add plug-in modules. One of these modules is a DAC (digital audio chip) that will improve audio quality.

It looks like the information reported as rumor has just been confirmed by LG, as the South Korean company announced a new partnership with Bang & Olufsen for the addition of enhanced high-quality audio experience in smartphones.

LG also confirmed that it has been working closely with Bang & Olufsen on the new G5 flagship smartphone to provide users with the best sound experience possible.

According to LG, the G5 will be the first smartphone to offer the powerful Hi-Fi audio features co-designed by Bang & Olufsen PLAY.

“B&O PLAY appeals to music lovers who want the best available products on the market. They are uncompromisingly innovative, without boundaries and constantly on the go and they expect the same from the headphones as well as the mobile devices they choose, so this is a perfect match,” said Henrik Taudorf Lorensen, president of B&O PLAY.

Other LG smartphones might get enhanced audio features

But the collaboration between LG and Bang & Olufsen won't end once the G5 hits shelves, as the companies plan to include high-quality audio features to many other smartphones that will be launched later this year.

“By collaborating with B&O PLAY, we believe we can meet and surpass the heightened expectations of consumers seeking the next generation of enhanced audio experiences on their smartphones,” said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company.

LG G5 has been confirmed for unveil on February 21 at MWC 2016 trade fair in Barcelona, Spain. Samsung Galaxy S7 will be revealed at the same time, and the same goes for Huawei's newest smartphone.
