The update will only be available in Poland initially

It looks like LG will be one of the first handset makers to offer Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates to its customers. If we don't count Google, LG could really be the first to provide this upgrade to some of its users.

According to an official statement, LG G4 will be the company's first smartphone to receive the highly anticipated Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.

However, before getting your hope too high, it's worth mentioning that the update won't be available for all LG G4 owners.

The South Korean company confirmed that LG G4 owners in Poland would begin receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade beginning next week with other markets in Europe, Asia and the Americas to follow.

This means that LG will most likely be testing this initial Android 6.0 Marshmallow build with a limited number of G4 users.

If you live in Poland and own an LG G4 smartphone, then you should start checking for the new upgrade beginning next week.

LG also mentions some of the improvements the update should bring to G4 devices such as simplified permissions, Silent feature for sound and vibrate mode, Doze Mode and many more.

In the same statement LG admits that even if it will be the first company to offer Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade, this isn't necessarily an indicator of great service.

Still, LG G4 owners will surely enjoy the new update even if they won't receive the final build next week. Thumbs up, LG.

“By working closely with Google, LG has been able to bring Android 6.0 to the G4 ahead of any of our competitors.

“While speed alone isn't an indicator of great service, it does go a long way toward giving consumers the confidence that LG is committed to its existing customers first,” said Chris Yie, vice president and head of marketing communications for LG Mobile Communications Company.
