Where should Windows Phone users go next?

Windows phone’s hardcore user base is shrinking, mostly because Microsoft isn’t doing anything about the decline of its mobile operating system, so although this platform is based on a very loyal community, it now seems to be just a matter of time until everyone jumps ship.

Without a doubt, staying with Windows phones is becoming quite a challenge these days, not necessarily because of overly-discussed problems such as the lack of apps, but due to Microsoft’s super-reticent approach regarding its mobile platform.

The company rarely talks about its mobile vision, and when it does it, the only thing we get is a reiteration of its commitment to support Windows 10 Mobile. Still no word on new devices, no word on the eagerly-anticipated Surface Phone, or on the improvements that are projected to arrive in Windows 10 Mobile.

As a result, there are lots of Windows phone users out there who are migrating to Android and iOS, mostly because sticking with Windows 10 Mobile doesn’t seem to be a long-term plan. Not for them and not for Microsoft either.

Android or iOS?

We’ve heard from our readers that most people who were disappointed with the lack of apps on Windows phones decide to go the Android way, while those looking for a more secure platform and aren’t bothered by a closed ecosystem embrace Apple.

Even though nothing compares to Windows 10 Mobile and the transition is painful at first, it needs to be done, and sometimes, choosing the next destination is harder than you’d think.

That’s why we’re asking you: should Windows phone users move to Android or iOS? Why is Android a better choice than iOS for Windows phone fans or is it the other way around? Does Android or iOS even compare to Windows 10 Mobile and, if yes, how exactly?
