Even though we've been expecting Lenovo to come forward with an international version of its popular Lemon 3 smartphone, the Chinese company outed two new affordable smartphones that will be available for purchase next month.

The new Vibe K5 and Vibe K5 Plus will hit shelves in March for just $129 and $149, respectively. According to the handset maker, both will be available in select countries where Lenovo smartphones are sold.

It's also worth mentioning that Vibe K5 Plus will be available in Platinum Silver or Champagne Gold. The Vibe K5 is likely to be available in white color as well.

Even though the Vibe K5 is cheaper than the Plus version, there aren't too many differences between the two smartphones.

The most important is the CPU since Lenovo confirmed the Vibe K5 Plus comes equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor inside, whereas the Vibe K5 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 415 CPU.

Another significant difference is the display, as the Vibe K5 Plus sports a 5-inch display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution while the standard model has a 720p screen instead.

Good specs for the price you pay

The rest of the phones' specs are similar, so if you plan on getting either of the two expect a 13-megapixel camera on the back with dual-LED flash, autofocus and full HD (1080p) video recording, as well as a secondary 5-megapixel camera in the front.

Also, the smartphones pack 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

Lenovo's new affordable handsets offer Dolby Audio features, along with FM Radio, dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, and GPS with AGPS.

Each of the smartphones is powered by a 2,750 mAh removable battery and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box.
