Lenovo does not want to remain behind on the Chinese smartphone market, which is why the handset maker has decided to launch another device that will directly compete with Xiaomi's very popular Redmi 3 mid-ranger.

The new Lenovo Lemon 3 will soon be available for purchase in China for just $105, which makes it a great deal, considering what it has to offer regarding specs.

Even it cost a little over $100, the Lemon 3 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 64GB via microSD card slot.

Also, the smartphone sports a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD resolution. Such a cheap handset with a 1080p display is pretty rare, so Lenovo seems to have nailed it this time.

But these are not all the right things included in the Lemon 3. Lenovo's smartphone packs a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash, and full HD (1080p) video recording.

Smaller battery than Xiaomi Redmi 3

Lenovo Lemon 3 also features a 5-megapixel camera on the front, which will handle selfies and video calls. As expected, the affordable device offers both 4G LTE and dual-SIM support.

The handset will ship with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, and includes various connectivity options like 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with AGPS support.

Last but not least, the Lemon 3 is powered by a 2,750 mAh battery, which is much smaller than Xiaomi Redmi 3's massive 4,100 mAh battery that should provide more usage time.

The Lemon 3 will only be available in China initially, but we suspect Lenovo will bring the affordable smartphone to other Asian countries in the coming weeks.

India is an excellent candidate for the next country to get the Lenovo Lemon 3, but the handset's price might be slightly higher.
