Valve doesn't usually have any kind of leaks

There is no doubt that the Left 4 Dead series is one of the most successful for Valve and that a new one is probably in the making, but there is little to no info on it, with the exception of today’s rumor.

When it comes to games made by Valve, pretty much anything is an unsubstantiated rumor before the actual announcement. Their release schedule is a mystery to all, and they keep everything locked up in a vault. Nothing gets out in the community (with the exception of that stolen Half-Life 2 source code),

So, when new information comes to light, about anything made by Valve, it’s usually fake. There is a lot of information about Half-Life 3 for example, but hardly any of it can be taken seriously, even if it seems plausible. Now, when someone says not only that they know a new Left 4 Dead games is in the making, but also that they know when it’s going to be released, it’s time to put our … detectors to work.

Left 4 Dead 3 coming in 2017?

According to a post on NeoGAF, a couple of websites have already run the story, but at a closer look, it’s actually just one citing the other. Basically, Express.co.uk claims to have sources that have confirmed this information and given them some additional details.

“Reports also claim that the four characters have already been given names, with the sole female said to be known as Katherine. The three male characters apparently include gangster Irvin, comic book nerd Keenan and famous Kenpo fighter Garrett Jr,” reads the entry on express.co.uk.

They also mention that there are going to be six campaigns and that launch date is somewhere in 2017. This is not likely to be true, and you should treat it as a rumor. Valve doesn’t leak.
