Drag and drop support coming for quick actions

Microsoft is expected to launch a new Windows 10 Mobile build sometime this week, and one of the changes that could be part of this release is targeting the Action Center and the quick actions.

The software giant seems to be paying quite a lot of attention to the Action Center these days, and in addition to significant changes coming on PCs, Windows 10 Mobile is also expected to receive some tweaks that would allow users to customize it even more.

A report by WinBeta reveals that Microsoft is working on a new feature that would enable users to rearrange quick actions in the Action Center with drag and drop. “Press and hold or select quick actions, then drag to rearrange item. These quick actions appear in notification center,” the description of the new feature reads.

More personalization options

Basically, users would be able to arrange quick actions in any order they want, while also being allowed to add or remove them freely. You can thus have only the ones you need the most showing up in the Action Center, as compared to the existing version of Windows 10 Mobile, which allows such customization only for the first row.

This new change is likely to be part of an insider build expected to debut sometime in the next few days, but details on when this is due to happen are not yet available. The report says that if the next build doesn’t bring this improvement, then the next one is very likely to come with it, as the company is already testing it internally and the results look very good.

Retail users should get this and more in the Anniversary Update projected to launch in the summer. PCs currently running Windows 10 are also scheduled to receive significant improvements, including changes that are specifically aimed at the Action Center too.
