Shortly after it purchased Nokia’s Devices and Services unit, Microsoft started a very long restructuring process that involved not only laying off thousands of workers but also the demise of several new models, including what was believed to be the Lumia 750.

Although it never came to be, the Lumia 750 was supposed to be an exciting new phone coming with Windows 10 Mobile from the very beginning, and in new photos coming from China, we get a closer look at what this model could have looked liked if it ever reached the market.

Codenamed Guilin according to NPU, the Lumia 750 shares the typical Lumia look and shows up in these photos in a bright yellow version, which is also living proof that Microsoft most likely planned to release it in several other color variants, just like the other Lumias on the market.

Mid-range phone

The Lumia 750 was expected to come with a 5-inch screen and a resolution of 1280x720 pixels and to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz.

Furthermore, Microsoft was planning on offering 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage space, which was enough for the device to run Windows 10 Mobile quite easily. microSD card support was also on the spec sheet for those looking for expanded storage.

Additionally, the Lumia 750 could have launched with an 8-megapixel main camera with Zeiss optics, autofocus, Led flash, and 1080p video recording at 30 fps, while the front-facing unit was a 5-megapiel camera. Other features included the typical Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, LTE, and a 2650 mAh battery.

The Lumia 750, however, never came to be and now that Microsoft is preparing to phase out the Lumia brand entirely, there are small chances to ever see a new Lumia phone going live in the coming years. The focus is said to be on the Surface Phone, which according to sources, should see daylight sometime next year.
