Windows 10 Redstone 2 will bring significant updates to both PCs and mobile devices already running Microsoft’s latest operating system and one of the improvements that will debut on smartphones is a redesigned Action Center.

The screenshot you see here, and which was published on Twitter by user @tfwboredom, provides us with an early look at what the new Action Center might look like when making its public debut in Redstone 2 next year.

Judging from the screenshot, Microsoft is trying to bring PCs and smartphones in line with this Action Center update, as it will feature a similar look on all devices. The PC version of Windows 10 has already received an Action Center overhaul with the debut of the Anniversary Update in early August and now Microsoft appears to be working on bringing the same UI on mobile devices as well.

Coming in future preview builds

With a little luck, this new design of the Action Center could launch in the next Windows 10 Redstone 2 builds for insiders, but for the moment, the only thing we know is that it’s being worked on and is scheduled to go live in the final version of Redstone 2.

Microsoft is expected to ship a new Windows 10 build to fast ring insiders as soon as this week, so fingers crossed to see some changes for mobile devices as well. The final version of Redstone is due in the spring of 2017 with many more improvements, including what seems to be an overhaul to the Wi-Fi settings page that also got leaked recently.

In the meantime, however, the Windows 10 Mobile ecosystem seems to be losing some pretty important devices, as Microsoft is believed to be working on phasing out the Lumia brand as soon as December.

With Microsoft, which is currently the number one company in the Windows 10 Mobile device ecosystem, pulling its Lumia devices, it remains to be seen how many other manufacturers decide to release phones running this OS, especially when considering the continuously collapsing market share.
