Android One project was not the success Google expected. However, word is the search giant will continue to partner with various OEMs for the launch of additional Android One smartphones in emerging markets.

According to a report coming from reliable sources, Google and Lava International plan to launch another Android One smartphone in India in the coming weeks.

Little is known about the phone's specs and availability, but we do know that Lava wants to price the new Android One smartphone slightly lower and offer better features at the same time.

But there is even better news for Lava customers, as Google has finally kicked off the rollout of Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for Lava Pixel V1.

Lava's first and only Android One smartphone is not the first to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade.

We reported in early October that Spice Dream Uno is getting the highly anticipated Marshmallow update and assumed that other Android One phones will receive the upgrade very soon.

Owners will receive notifications on their smartphones

Well, it looks like it took Google more than a month to release Android 6.0 Marshmallow for another Android One smartphone like the Lava Pixel V1.

According to a new report, the update has about 621MB in size and is pushed OTA (over the air) to all Lava Pixel V1 devices.

To make sure that you don't lose any information stored on your smartphone, Lava recommends users to backup all their personal data before attempting to upgrade to Marshmallow.

Also, your smartphone must have at least 750MB free storage for the update. The update is only available for download via Wi-Fi or GSM network, but to avoid extra charges make sure your device is connected to a stable network.

Last but not least, your Lava Pixel V1's battery should be at least 30% charged before proceeding with the upgrade.
