Indian handset maker Lava has another affordable Android smartphone with more-than-decent specs in the pipeline, the Iris X10. The device is now listed at Indian retailers, but it's not yet available for purchase.

According to a new report, customers can now register their emails to be notified when the Lava Iris X10 becomes available at HomeShop18 retailer.

The handset will sell for just Rs 10,990 outright, which is just $165 or €155. This seems like a good deal, considering the Iris X10's overall specs.

First of all, Lava Iris X10 packs 3GB of RAM, which is more than enough to run just about any apps or games listed in Google Play Store. It also offers 16GB of storage that can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

Customers also receive free screen guard and protection cover

The smartphone comes equipped with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, probably provided by MediaTek. It also features 4G LTE and dual-SIM support, which doesn't come as a surprise since India's 4G network has decent coverage now.

On the back, Lava Iris X10 packs a 13-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, dual-LED flash, and full HD (1080p) video recording. The handset also boasts a secondary 5-megapixel camera on the front, which is perfect for selfies and video calls.

Software-wise, the Iris X10 is powered by Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, along with Lava's StarOS on top.

We doubt the phone will ever receive an official upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but the newest version of Lollipop is good enough for the price.

Lava Iris X10 sports a decent 5.0-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution. Also, the handset drains energy from a 2,900 mAh battery that should provide up to 15 hours of talk time and up to 35 days of standby time.
