Lava Mobiles is back with yet another budget-friendly smartphone powered by Android operating system, the Iris X1 Atom S. Although the name might not mean anything for many of you, the Iris X1 series Lava's lineup is made up of affordable smartphones.

This means that you shouldn't expect any fancy specs to come packed inside the Lava Iris X1 Atom S, on the contrary.

The smartphone features lower specs than the Lava Iris X1 Atom that was launched a while ago, and this is one of the cheapest smartphones launched by the Indian OEM.

Nevertheless, it's good that there are Android smartphones available at this price tier as well, so anyone can own one rather than a feature phone.

Speaking of which, fonearena reports Lava Iris X1 Atom S is now available for purchase in India for just Rs 4,149 ($65 / €58) outright. It's also worth mentioning that customers will be able to choose between two color options: Black and White.

Moving on to specs, the first thing you should know before making your purchase is that the Iris X1 Atom S ships with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system right out of the box.

512MB RAM is disappointing even for a low-end smartphone

In addition, the smartphone is equipped with a 1GHz single-core processor, which is complemented by 512MB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory.

Luckily, the Iris X1 Atom S packs microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB). The phone sports a decent 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution.

Lava also confirmed that its affordable Android smartphone packs a 5-megapixel camera on the back, which features LED flash and video recording, while in the front there's a secondary VGA camera for selfies.

The smartphone offers dual-SIM support and comes with a range of connectivity options, including 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with AGPS, FM Radio and 3.5mm audio jack. Lava Iris X1 Atom S is powered by a 1,400 mAh battery that has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.
