Do you guys remember that there is game in the making called Homefront: The Revolution? Well, it’s coming this May.

Homefront: The Revolution is the sequel to the great Homefront FPS that was developed by Kaos Studios and published by THQ. It was a good game, and its developer said at that time that they want to compete with Call of Duty. The reception wasn’t great and the fact that it is a really short game didn’t help.

Still, a sequel for Homefront was started, but THQ ran into financial trouble and then ruin. After THQ went away, the rights to the game were bought by Crytek, who started to build a game based on CRYENGINE. Unfortunately, Crytek had some money problems and sold the license and game to Deep Silver.

Gameplay videos and various details about Homefront: The Revolution were made available in 2015, but nothing really precise was known about the launch date. According to a report on xboxachievements.com, the Target store has some gift cards for the game and the date May 17, 2016 is printed on them.

It’s not something certain, but now that the information is in the open, it’s very likely that Deep Silver will want to clear things up and make some sort of official announcement.

Homefront: The Revolution is still based on the CRYENGINE, so we know that it will look good, but the gameplay needs to match that. I guess we’ll see what happens in May.
