There's a new patch available for Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC, so if you're wondering why your Rockstar Launcher downloads around 3GB worth of files, that's the main reason. Dubbed Title Update 1.14, the update brings lots of fixes and improvements, as well as some new content.

The list of new content is quite short and includes the items that you get in the Gambler's Choice Collection: Ace of Swords, Gran Corazon Madeira, and 1800 Gold Dollar. However, the list of bug fixes and improvements is much bigger, so for the full changelog make sure to head to Red Dead Redemption 2's support page.

Among the most important improvements added in the update, there are some that should fix and issue that resulted in a crash when running out of memory. If you've been hit with this memory-related error message you should check your virtual memory settings by following the instructions provided by Rockstar.

Also, the developers added improvements to address an issue that resulted in random crashes during gameplay on systems using an NVIDIA GTX 970 graphics card. Another bug that would result in pixelated/blocky rendering artifacts on shadow during some cutscenes has been fixed too.

More importantly, Rockstar says it has delivered a fix for an issue that resulted in potential save corruption and permanent loss of progress if the player was signed out of their Social Club account while in Story Mode. The rest of the changes involve lots of fixes for crashes occurred in various scenarios and due to certain hardware and/or software.

The latest Red Dead Redemption 2 PC update will not modify your graphics settings, although you will want to fiddle with it a bit to fine-tune your game. Some players report that the update weighs in at 2GB, while others claim it's a 3GB download, but both files should contain the same changes regardless of their size.
